In the context of international mobility and exchange of artists and cultural operators, the Roberto Cimetta Fund is running a funding line TAMTEEN – to support the strengthening and sustainability of organisations and artists collectives from the Arab world (including Turkey).
This funding line aims at strengthening cultural and artistic organisations and/or artists collectives operating in the Arab World including Turkey) and developing local projects (venues, networks, platforms). We hope through this fund to create a leverage effect that could contribute modestly to rebalancing forces between Arab and European components in the exchange, as well as strengthening and sustaining cultural exchange between Arab regions.
The Wandering Tower is the title of a surrealist short story by Sergej Prokofiev from the times of vivid migration movements on the edge of the world wars.
The Festival was quoting the title as a metaphorical frame for Mahalla 2020/2021. The tower of Babel is connected as a motive to the search for the origin of language and the access to the divine.
