Mahalla is a traveling Festival of Contemporary Art, Music, Theatre, Film and Literature. The Photographers Yasın Baran, Mehmet Kaçmaz and Che Seibert are representing the Festival on The Contemporary Istanbul Art Fair.
The Festival calls for new artistic practices and narratives on the topic’s migration and borders, communities and diversity, new city cultures, mobile citizenship and future demands.
The Contemporary Istanbul is operating virtually between 21.12.2020 – 06.01.2021. In Spring it is planned to present the works on the Fair’s location at the Istanbul Convention Center.
“The Wandering Tower” is the title of the Festival for 2020 and 2021. It is quoting a surrealist short story by Sergej Prokofiev from the times of vivid migration movements on the edge of the world wars. http://mahalla.inenart.eu
