At Zabbar’s Calling Città Hompesch he presents his new installtion Sentimental Value as an Artistic Tool.
We put and connect personal emotions and memories into the close objects around us. I am using pieces from a yellow padded wall facade from an old residence that was just demolished in my hometown Örebro, Sweden. I want to preserve the place with the sentimental values I do carry with me. I will build an installation of stones together with screen prints and photos of the building. The artwork will reconsider museology itself: why do we keep an object outside of its original space and bring it far away from its true context?
