Drawing and Installation by Thomas Büsch
Within the installation the artist reflects the creation of the flying saucer by Viktor Schauberger and the invention of the mobile device out of a suitcase.
Viktor Schauberger could be called the ‘father of implosion technology’. The implosion principle is, of course, diametrically opposite to what today’s explosion-oriented technology utilizes. Implosion has to do with a self-sustaining vortex flow of any liquid or gaseous medium, which has a concentrating, ordering effect and which decreases the temperature of the medium, in opposition to the dictates of “modern” thermodynamics.
On the other hand mobile devices released people from the confines of space in much the same manner as the train, the car, the airplane or the flying saucer.
Palimpsest
The title, Palimpsest, originally denotes a piece of writing material on which the original writing has been erased to make room for later writing.
However, traces of the overwritten texts remain.
This paleographic phenomenon will inspire the artists of the Mahalla Festival 2022. They will be concerned with the use of resources in a
comprehensive way: in terms of ecological, economic, political, social and communal memory culture.
The Palimpsest Festival is supported by
