Screening-Event of Factual for Future (FaFu) – developed by Sabine and Thomas Büsch, Directors of the Mahalla Festival.

The global warming is related to numerous factors. One of them is the enormous consumption and waste of plastic. The pollution of the Mediterranean is a threat to all Countries of the Med-region. The Profile picture shows an installation in the National Aquarium of Malta.

FaFu is a Working Group on Filmmaking about Biodiversity under Threat and Initiatives for its protection in Malta. A group of Malta-based Filmmakers work around the central importance of Biodiversity and Community-related projects to protect the environment.

The group was launched during a residency of Sabine and Thomas Büsch provided by the INNOVAIR program of the Valetta Cultural Agency in cooperation with the Valletta Design Cluster.

The four best films premiere during an event of the Mahalla Festival, directed by Sabine and Thomas Büsch, in Malta at the Knisja ta’ Santa Marija tal-Anġli in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, Naxxar.

Leanne and Lorraine Lewis produced two films about a Community Greening Event in Senglea and Organic Farming in Malta. Sandra Mifsud and Douglas Comley portrait a Surfer and Activist involved in a Turtle Protection Program with Nature Trust – FEE Malta. Laura Piredda and Martina Vasallo feature the rescue and release program for sharks as a collaboration of the NGO Shark-Lab and the National Aquarium in Malta. It includes a unique Breeding-program for Baby Sharks.
