Concert Session Rabih Beaini
September 20, 9:30 – 11:00 pm
The Lebanese-born and Berlin-based artist RABIH BEAINI is a skilled DJ, cherished electronic music producer and head of the influential Morphine label, but also an avid collaborator always keen on finding a common language with other artists. In this utterly unique show, Rabih mixes live films by French filmmaker and traveler Vincent Moon, manipulating their soundtracks, while also adding his own dark electronic touch. The resulting sounds are alien and textured, dislocated yet absorbing, whilst the films themselves move around the planet exploring human rituals and music making.
His genuine musical ability and a range of influences—from krautrock to new wave—seep into his inventive, dark, and emotional productions and immersive DJ sets. His productions join the dots between raw, elementary electronica, and jazz. At Bomontiada he plays one of his intense and characterful DJ sets incorporating techno, jazz, music from the Middle East, Indonesia and much more.
